Set-Up Instructions: Tellurian Networks Internet Set-Up CD

Note: This is a copy of the instructions you should have received with your Tellurian Networks Internet Set-Up CD.

If your computer is part of a business network, please contact your Network Administrator before continuing. Please check with your phone company before calling our access numbers. Tellurian Networks will take no responsibility for toll charges.

Software Installation:

  1. Close all programs that are currently running in windows.

  2. Insert the Tellurian Networks Setup CD into your CD-ROM drive.

  3. If AutoPlay is enabled, the installation program will start automatically. If not, double-click on the "My Computer" icon. Double-click on your CD-ROM drive, and then double-click on the "cdsetup" icon.

  4. The Tellurian Networks Internet Setup window will appear on your desktop. Click once on the "Install Internet Explorer 6" icon in the upper right corner.

  5. Select "I accept the agreement" and click the "Next" button at the bottom.

  6. The default is "Install Now – Typical set of components." Click on "Next."

  7. The installation process will begin. Installation may take several minutes depending on the speed of your computer.

  8. Click on "Finish" to restart your computer and complete the installation.

  9. When your system is finished rebooting, the Tellurian Networks icon will appear on your desktop. Double-click on the Tellurian icon to open the Tellurian Networks Internet dialer.

  10. Enter your username and password in the appropriate spaces. Do NOT put "@tellurian.net" after your username. The dialer does this automatically. Check "Save password" and "connect automatically" if desired.

  11. Click once on the "Properties" button.

  12. Click on the "Phone Book" button.

  13. Select Service Type (usually "Modem").

  14. Select Country or Region, "United States of America."

  15. Select your State or Province from the drop down menu.

  16. Click to highlight the access number that is local to you.

  17. If you have two access numbers that are local to you, you can add a backup number by clicking on the second "Phone Book" button and following the same procedure.

  18. If necessary, place a check mark next to "Use dialing rules." Click on the "Dialing Rules" button. Select any options that apply to your situation.

  19. Your modem should appear in the "Connect using" window. If not, select your modem from the drop down menu.

  20. Click on the "Options" tab at the top of the window.

  21. Change the "Idle time before disconnecting" to "never."

  22. Click "OK."

  23. Click on the "Connect" button to dial Tellurian Networks and connect to the Internet.

  24. You can also connect by double-clicking the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop.

Special Instructions for Windows 95 Users ONLY:

  1. Insert the Tellurian Networks Setup CD into your CD-ROM drive.

  2. Double-click the "My Computer" icon. Right-click on your CD-ROM drive, and click "Open." Double-click "Win 95."

  3. Double-click on the "cdsetup" icon. (It may also be called "cdsetup.exe.")

  4. Continue with step 4 above.
