Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) QUESTION: Why do I get an SSL certificate error when using Eudora for email? POSSIBLE SOLUTION(S):
As of February 20, 2004, Tellurian Networks primary mail servers - pop3.tellurian.com and smtp.tellurian.com - both support SSL connections for the POP3, SMTP, and IMAP4 protocols. By default and whenever possible, Qualcomm's Eudora (5.1 or greater) email program will attempt to use SSL connections when sending and receiving email. As such, Eudora may present an error when trying to negotiate SSL connections with the our mail servers, unless you accept our SSL certificate. This error occurs because the Eudora email program does not include any certificate authority information except for SSL certificates issued by Verisign. Our mail servers use SSL certificates issued by Geotrust; please be assured there is nothing wrong with our SSL certificate or the SSL connection causing the SSL error messages you may see before implementing this change. Please refer to this Qualcomm Eudora web page Setting up SSL in Eudora for detailed instructions on enabling or disabling the use of SSL connections in Eudora.
To disable SSL in Eudora
NOTE: Eudora must be set to use pop3.tellurian.com and smtp.tellurian.com for SSL to work properly, do NOT use pop3.tellurian.net or smtp.tellurian.net otherwise you will continue to get an error message.
